THE QUEEN IS BACK!

My friend, Jodi, just started a new website for cheapskates like me. It's hapnun.com!
Here is the press release . . .

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– July 7, 2011 – Today marks the U.S.-wide launch of Hapnun.com, a new site that brings together businesses who have deals with bargain-hunters who want deals.

Hapnun.Com answers the question “What’s Hapnun in my city right now?” By hosting a free platform for local businesses to post their daily deals and specials, Hapnun provides an opportunity for consumers to freely search by city and category for the deals they want the most. Furthermore, Hapnun has eliminated the need for mass emails, coupon-clipping, or locating that elusive deal code on your phone.

“I’ve never met someone who doesn’t like a good deal,“ says J Oehlke, Hapnun Founder. “This is like knowing what special is ‘hapnun’ at Joe Shmoe’s Diner, but on a massive scale, every day, all across America, where we can all walk in and get the same deal right away."

Hapnun will feature daily deals from nearly 500 cities in more than 30 categories that include restaurants, concerts, events, automotive services, salons, hotels, and more. Deal-hunters simply search for deals by city and category, and then tell the merchant they “saw the Hapnun deal."

“When I was a business owner struggling to weather a rough economic climate, I realized I didn’t care so much how customers got to my door, but just that we needed them in the door,” recalls Oehlke, who would have jumped at any opportunity to list her daily deals for free through a Hapnun-like platform.

Hapnun encourages businesses to post deals 40%-90% off to yield an optimal consumer response. Because the site is free to businesses and consumers alike, it allows businesses to make steeper discounts, which means bigger savings for the deal-hunter.

While the site remains free to post deals, affordable ad space options allow businesses to land “prime real estate” by receiving optimal branding placement on their city’s front page or within the category that best suits them.

Currently, all daily deal postings will expire nightly at midnight to keep the site fresh every day*. In the near future, Hapnun expects to roll out Phase Two, which will allow people to plan ahead for upcoming deals. A mobile-ready version of Hapnun.com is also currently in development for smartphone-users on the go.

(*Note: During Hapnun.com’s beta stage, all deal listings will stay active until July 31 so that businesses and consumers can get a good feel for the site and offer feedback.)
